Massive Feedburner Subscriber Drop: Don’t Panic

Earlier this afternoon I had a slight shock seeing that my subscriptions had dropped by more than 140 from its peak within one night.

Until I realized there simply was no way I could have 2/3rds of my readers unsubbing within 24 hours, the number is simply too high (plus, my latest offensive post was months away). Looking at the detailed stats, it appears the Google Feedfetcher numbers have almost entirely gone missing, which means there has been some code change by either Feedburner or Google.

Looks like I’m not the only one seeing this happening: Here’s the feedburner forum thread (ongoing), and Amanna had a similar shock than mine earlier.
