I dinged 30 on the pocket shaman yesterday, then went to grab my air totem, and just because I could (and had gotten a nice buff), dinged 31 before going to bed.
All good so far. Hope it stays this way.

Gratz! I have a lvl 22 shaman, and I’ve heard horror stories about the air totem quest. Maybe they’ve done something to make it easier?

You mean like placing it in Org instead of 1k needles?
While I don’t know how it is for Draenei, if you’re referring to horde it’s water totem which is long, and has a couple of pretty tough fights to complete. Call of air is just go to talk to an NPC in thousand needles, the only hard thing about it is that you have to walk a bit from the flight path.
