While we get enough points off our 3v3 for the week, Steptoe and me decided to work on our 2v2 skills further - arena experience is arena experience, and while 2v2 is a lot quieter than 3v3, we’re by no means that good that we can scoff at some more time.
Time being a keyword here, with 2v2 queues averaging 10-12 minutes. So off we go on Sunday evening, winning our first three games with relative ease. And then Steptoe gets the phone call that never ends or something. And comes back with his mind on other things when I was about to log. Obviously, it doesn’t take much of the little brainpower I have to figure he has been on the phone with someone of the female persuasion, and since my good warlock buddy has his mind clouded by nice, rosy things, it gets hard to concentrate on death and destruction. And we lose the next four games like total amateurs.
Of course, if I were fully earnest, instead of blaming it all on Steptoe and his amourous phonecalls, I’d admit that after waiting for over 30 minutes it was getting late and I was far from concentrated myself (read: I played like crap myself, blowing cooldowns too early), but I’m going to stick to Bad Faith mode and just complain that Mr. Loverlock blew those games. Makes for more controversial writing and I bet he’ll have some nasty words for me in the comment, which generates DRAMA and everyone loves that, right?
So at 3-4, late night, we can’t be arsed anymore, call it a night and go to bed, fully determined to play better on Monday.
Last night, after almost missing Steptoe in game because I spent too long fiddling around with the Altitis template, we get two games in, one very easy victory (no, they didn’t dance naked, they just were a brand new 1500 rating team) and one slightly longer against a priest and a warrior, who got a lucky execute in just after the priest died while I was running away in fear and took down the dps part of our duo. DoTs still ticking, he hamstrings me and runs away, and like the noob I am I fully forget about Blessing of Freedom… he sits down and bandages, only to stand up at the next DoT tick, Holy Shock, Hammer of Wrath and there we go.
So 9 games in, 5-4, and we re-queue. And wait. And wait. And wait until it becomes obvious that the 2v2 servers or matchmakers have bugged out and we’re not gonna get another game. Damn shame if you ask me.

Nope no drama here. I admit defeat. I played like arse on Sunday night doing a fraction of the DPS that I can and hardly anything else, ade up for it last night, that warrior priest game was great. Pally + PM Pyro Mage anyone?. But…
“I fully forget about Blessing of Freedom” Nice one!! Talk about Welfare epix. You got full s3 from that fight ffs. I’m going to BT (in my arena gear noless), I bid you adieu my DPS deficient friend rofl.
As a side note. Should record some of our games to demonstrate our suck levels to everyone. They’d be surprised. Steptoe, Out.
Pfff… I’m not too keen on getting feedback like “You guys should stick to /dancing, the games would last longer and be more exiting”, thanks a bunch.
I’m sure players more skilled than ourselves would point us in the right direction.
That’s exactly my worry
Kidding aside, your connection is fubared half of the time already, and you’re complaining of the state your computer is in all the time, how do you propose to fraps our games? :-p
Using fraps. Thought that would have been obvious
I’ll blur your face, they’ll never know it’s you. Honestly though I think it’s a good idea and am up for it, Just waiting for someone else to post here in the comments about it and back me up
Who wants to see fraps videos about how sucky our arena 2v2 team is?
Bah, just go for it. In the worst case we’ll slap some funky music on it and pretend you’re trying your hands at machinima comedy.
I’ll take a look. If nothing else I’ll learn from your mistakes.. (Did I say that out loud?)
That’s gonna be a lifetime’s worth of learnings, then
