Zen of Design’s How Game Economies Can Fail to Incentivize Fun

One of the blogs I tend to read but don’t list on my blogroll because his stream of thoughts and interests go widely beyond WoW is Damion Shubert’s Zen of Design.

When he does muse about our favourite MMO, Damion usually offers commentary which hits the nail on the head. His latest piece about the issues with farming as a healer or tank, in particular in perspective with the epic flying mount’s cost is no different.

Zen of Design, as its name implies, is written from the perspective of a veteran MMO designer, and gives in general some insight into the minds of the people we, the players, tend to complain about (when we shouldn’t).

As illustrated by the present post, a highly recommended read.
