Learn to Pick who you’re complaining to.

Tonight, after an otherwise flawless BM run with zero deaths, I decided that I actually wasn’t really in the mood to let a particuliar brand of players tell me how to play. Not that I’m against advice or believe I have nothing to learn – on the contrary, there’s much to be perfected and I’ll happily take advice from someone more experienced than me. Or when I commit a glaring mistake, to be called out for it may sting but is usually totally justified. What I actually don’t like is when everything is going well yet I get directions from a DPS class on who to heal when and how… in mid-fight.

So after the run I had the chat with “M” below. “M” is, obviously, a guildmate, otherwise I’d simply /ignored and gone on my merry way.

We’ll see where this goes, I guess

Wow, sorry to hear that, Gwaendar. Nothing is worse than giving feedback and then being threatened by someone because of their relationship with a guild officer. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

That’s one reason why I suffer from “Altitis” and haven’t joined any guilds lately! Sure, one can find a good one, but it’s boring enough all that pressure for better gear to move on to better challenges then farm some instances for ever and ever for a drop chance, rinse and repeat ad obnoxious…

As for /ignore on a guildie, I once did that and explained the GM why I had done… Of course, don’t even remember what it was, but should have been serious at the time! :)

Wow that sucks. You HAVE to post a follow up to tell us what happens. A blog post pls. I might forget to check comments hehe. Thanks for that stopcasting explanation you wrote. I’ve had the hardest time explain how the current system works to guildmates, and what with a new system coming in.
