From 2v2 to 3v3?

So here we are, a warlock and a pallie, previously hovering in the 1650s which should give you an idea of our approximative skill level. We’re not fully epixed out, and we have about 12 weeks of slowly accumulated experience working as a team.

Our question to my esteemed readers: What classes would complement us best for a 3v3? Any advice is welcome.

I think some decent queue times would work well with that setup.

A Rogue worked for us. Combat or Mutilate. A geared Shadow Priest (one built for tanking, as they usually are first to be focus fired) is good too.

On paper, a Warrior should seem ok too, but 3v3 is all about the counter classes your opponents might have, and because of the popularity of Paladin/Priest/Warrior, Paladin/Shaman/Warrior, and Warrior/Warrior/X, you might have to weed though many stacked caster teams—rough facing CS/Silence/Spell Lock in the face of your Warrior being bursted down.

Priest was the one that came to mind for myself and Gwaendar suggested Rogue.

Out of interested Megan, What spec does your lock run in 3v3?

I run a 43/7/11 Affliction spec. I wouldn’t recommend it though unless you are paired with a Shadow Priest OR have 300+ Resilience with 11k~ HP. Super squishy it is.

Pity you’re still short on the resilience, eh Sparky? :-p

We picked a rogue out of our brand new guild, skirmished thrice and realized we should have interviewed and armoury-checked the gentleman. He is keen and eager but goes “splat” within seconds.

On the other hand, I seem to be unable to walk 5 yards in Shatt without getting at least on whisper begging me for a spot. We may eventually get a good rogue.

A rogue would probably be your best all-around bet, they do quite well in this bracket and are low-maintenance (when played well) compared to some other choices.

Ah I’m not doing too badly though, 11.2k hp ish, 210 resil and 1.1k spell dmg.

I’m soooo bored of SL/SL even after such a short amount of time. Not doing the damage I could be. Shopping around for a new arena spec atm
