I had read about it on our battlegroup’s forum and on Sunday we experienced it first hand: Once you get close to the 1700 rating, you will start facing people in full glad gear and may also very well end up matched against teams with a much higher rating, simply because there isn’t enough people queuing up for Arena at any given time.
Steptoe and me had a rocky evening, losing 4 games for two wins (fortunately a third one never started). Two of those losses were against warriors who, contrary to these we faced in our climb from 1320ish to last week’s high of 1682, would know exactly how you disrupt a warlock’s game, and sat on Steptoe’s neck like a fly on a dung heap. Needless to say, we didn’t get a rather smooth learning curve but were faced with the brutal reality of playing against people from a superior league way before we were ready for it.
We also both made several damning mistakes and definitely weren’t at our best, though we started drawing some lessons from that. And then, Steptoe’s computer or connection died, leaving me as cannon fodder when the doors opened, never to reappear that evening.
The annoying part isn’t that we didn’t finish our minimum of 10 games, but rather that it left us without the opportunity to discuss about the night’s learnings afterwards.
Steptoe, I hope you read this at work and you can get your connection or house power or computer or karma fixed soon
We have to get payback for these losses!

It was a ye olde connection problem. Felt like I was in the Stone Age all day, And on my day off too!!
As you can tell though I’m back now after a day of juggling my time between my main offline games atm, FF3 and Crysis.
