Oh, and Ding! 70 for the first time.

Last week and thanks to a guildie helping me through that final level in a mere three nights (instead of at least 8 solo), my belfadin finally dinged 70.

Now begins the hunt for gear. I’ll stick to healbot for the time being, as I’ve also been drafted in a 2v2 arena team. We went through our 10 games last night – despite sporting slightly above 1000 + healing with talents, I’m hopelessly undergeared so far. That became crystal clear during our second warm-up skirmish when we faced a mage with above 10k health – about twice what I have in my current healing suit.

3 wins vs 7 losses. My teammate tells me that’s actually decent for a first time, as working as a team AND getting used to the arena pace produce a rather steep learning curve, especially for someone used to heal people in BG where you don’t necessarily stand out immediately.

Highlight of the series was beating one of these supposedly untouchable warrior + pallie combos. They probably just started out as we did. Major lessons learned for me: gear up fast, start thinking about running a special (and reduced) set of addons for Arena only, and last but not least, there’s going to be a ton of lessons ahead of me before I’ll start to be able to pretend to be even halfway useful in Arena. Another grind ahead – there’s also all these rep grinds, and while the normal flying mount is damn handy, I find it way too slow. Makes roughly 4500 gold to grind out as well.
