Offensive Hovercasting: Totem Disposal
Another nice application for hovercasting for ranged classes is getting rid of those pesky totems. Based on Wand-users, this simple macro allows you to kill a totem without deselecting your current target:
#showtooltip/cast [target=mouseover] Shoot/stopcasting
Bind it to a key, move your mouse over a totem, press the key, and voilĂ . You’re still having your normal target [...]
Leveraging Mouseover (Hover-) Casting
Several of my macros, in particular healing, cleansing and taunting, include the conditional [target=mouseover].
Provided you did bind the macros containing it to a hotkey, you can now do so-called hover-casting - basically just move your mouse pointer so it hovers above whoever you want to use the macro on and hit the shortcut key. To [...]
Wet Paint
I just got fed up with my old bland non-customized layout so I moved to an ever blander one. This one at least doesn’t have any colorful art which reminds me just how lazy I am because it’s still the stock one instead of custom.
All gravvy.

BG progression
I continued my quest for honour in order to gear up last night. Got two WSG games, both dreaful and long, drawn-out affairs. The second game in particuliar was a total headscratcher for Steptoe and me. We started out with a 9v6 advantage for at least 15 minutes and had one cap in that time. One [...]
Play your own damn game: AFKGamer on Kara
Foton of AFKGamer offers us a raider’s view on why Kara blows - it fully resonates with my own point of view, but is better written and has the advantage of being backed up by direct experience of the damn place.
Karazhan is the place where many guilds go to die. Tigole and his “we love [...]
Paladin Macros Redux
After a 2 months hiatus and some more playtime, my Paladin macros require some improvements. OK, I’ll admit right off the bat, wowinsider just posted about them, and as is often the case, they are a ragtag collection of sometimes badly-written little tools which don’t necessarily suit most needs.
One Good PvP Hunter
Trapping skills in PvP are a lovely thing. In AB, I met a hunter from a different server (wish I paid attention to the name now) who grasped on early that I wasn’t here to play leet Ret DPS gimpathron, so he stuck close to me whenever he had a chance and placed freezing traps [...]
The Long Road to Decent Gear
Gah. Ghostlands EU is still pretty much a desert in terms of getting 5-men past 23:00 server time. Got one Botanica run in a week and that’s it. And no drops for me in there.
So back to plan B - get BG rewards in order to grab gear enabling me to get Arena rewards. Right [...]
Wow. Just wow.
Just checked the arena ladder for our 5v5 team.
We’re bloody third on our realm. With a mere 9 wins and 1587 rating. Says a lot more about the state of our server (desertic) and our battlegroup (ghost town) than our skill but still - two more weeks at that rate and the first set of [...]
And speaking about Arena, a bit of Bragging
Steptoe was fed up with not gaining points fast enough for his taste to buy his welfare epics (we are stuck around / near 1380-1390 rating and end up at 5-5 every week), so he hooked us up with a guild-neutral, spanking new 5v5 team.
So two nights ago we managed to get 5 team members [...]
Quick Snapshot of Arena Class Distribution
Following one of these typical forum posts about certain classes being “massively OP” (guess which one we were talking about, here’s a hint, it starts with a “W” and ends with “arlock” *waves to Steptoe who wants Altitis to be mentionning him today*), I made the exercise of going through one Battlegroup’s Hall of Fame [...]
